Upgrading to SunSystems Cloud
Frequently Asked Questions

For those of you considering upgrading to SunSystems Cloud, here are answers to some of the most common questions we are asked.

I am on an old version of SunSystems.
Can I migrate to SunSystems Cloud?

Yes, you can! The migration path is more straightforward if you are on version 6.3 or 6.4 but there is a proven migration path, whichever version you are on.

Is migration difficult?

The upgrade process is straightforward and involves passing your data through a staging server where it is prepared for handover to the Infor Cloud Operations team for onboarding.

Your project will be planned, executed, and optimised to ensure a smooth transition to the new Software as a Service platform. Customers that have more complex configurations, perhaps including multiple integrations with third-party systems, require more time. The sooner you start planning, the better. Do we have to upgrade to SunSystems Cloud?

No one is forcing you to upgrade. SunSystems 6.4 is still fully supported. But SunSystems Cloud is the focus of all Infor's investment in new features and enhancements. As set out below, there are also many positive reasons for choosing to upgrade.

What are the key benefits of upgrading?

There are many reasons for upgrading. Here are our top four:

  1. This is the last upgrade you will ever need
With SunSystems Cloud you will always be up to date. Patches and enhancements are applied regularly to the platform for the benefit of all customers. You never fall behind and there is no additional charge.
  2. You get more for your money
Your subscription includes access to every SunSystems module including the Fixed Asset Register and Corporate Allocations. It also gives you access to Infor OS with its powerful workflow and document management facilities. All at no additional cost.
  3. Futureproof
Cloud is the future. It is also the present. Indeed, it has been some years since we had a new customer choose an on-premise installation. Everyone is investing in Cloud computing.
  4. Lower cost of ownership
SunSystems Cloud removes your dependency on IT infrastructure, eliminates the need for regular patching and updates, and takes care of security and backups for you. This significantly lowers your long-term cost of ownership.

What are the costs of implementing SunSystems Cloud?

SunSystems Cloud is a subscription service based on named users. So, if you have 20 people that need to log in to the system, you need to buy a subscription for 20 named users.

To that you must add the cost of implementation and ongoing support.
