What does your role at LAKE involve?
Well I guess there are two sides to my role. My title is Senior Customer Success Manager. As that title suggests, I have a small portfolio of key clients that I look after on a day to day, month to month basis. The second side of my role is new business sales. In this role I look after key sectors including education, not for profit and financial services, so anything new that comes up in those areas, it's my role to work with the customers and try to win the business.
How long have you been with LAKE and what did you do before you joined?
I joined LAKE in 2015, and before that I worked for another software provider in the financial services space in a similar role.
What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
I love building relationships with new and existing clients and working with them to make their lives easier with the solutions we provide. I also enjoy working with an experienced, skilled team of colleagues.
If you had to pick out three achievements or pieces of work that you're particularly proud of from your time at LAKE, what would they be?
I love it every time we win a new client, and I really enjoy working with them to expand and develop their systems, but I'm particularly proud of winning major contracts with Compare The Market, Secure Trust Bank plc & Universities Superannuation Scheme.
What does your background, experience and knowledge mean for customers?
I have successfully worked with many organisations over the years, both SMEs and multinational blue chip companies, and so I understand what clients need in order to build long lasting relationships.
What excites you most when you think about LAKE's future plans and the future of business systems in general?
I'm excited to see the development of the solutions we provide and how the company is adapting to a rapidly changing environment, especially the growth of our cloud business.
What do you do when you're not working?
I'm a keen rugby player and follower, still pulling on my boots for Morley RFC Vets and Halifax Vandals RUFC as well as being a coach in the Morley RFC Junior section. I also like to go to gigs when I can, increasingly taking my boys to them too. Having two big dogs (Rhodesian Ridgebacks) means I am out walking them a lot too.
What is one item on your bucket list?
I have been to every continent except Antarctica so to visit there would be good. I'd also like to see Mountain Gorillas in the wild.
What would your specialist Mastermind subject be?
If I had to choose something, I'd go for The Life & Times of Lemmy Kilmister.
