Luton Sixth Form College invests in LAKE solution based on SunSystems 6

Luton Sixth Form College has chosen to invest in its Infor SunSystems finance system from college specialist, LAKE. The decision to upgrade was driven by a need to fulfil the strategic IT vision for the college. LAKE were chosen for the quality of their proposal and for being a trusted supplier to the college.

Karen Brown, Head of Finance, explains their reasons for selecting the LAKE college solution:

“Our IT team has a strategic vision for the college that includes moving toward a paperless environment and improved workflow. It also includes updating applications and operating systems to versions that are 64 bit.

It had been some time since we had needed an upgrade to SunSystems. That meant we were lagging behind our strategic vision. Added to this, the sixth form sector is undergoing considerable change, both in terms of funding and structure - the recently announced option to apply for Academy status being particularly important.

It was decided to compare the LAKE solution with market leading alternatives. Though we had used SunSystems for many years, we maintained an open mind as to whether or not we would replace it.

LAKE impressed us with the quality of their proposal and answered all of the questions we threw at them. In the end we chose to upgrade SunSystems and invest in the LAKE solution. The combination of market leading software from a supplier we trust proved unbeatable."
