Announcing MTD for SunSystems version 6.4.3
Including changes to ensure Brexit compliance
MTD for SunSystems 6.4.3 is now available. This new release includes bug fixes and the following improvements and changes:
- Print on submission - giving the user the option to request an automatic print of the return immediately after the submission is complete
- Changes to on-screen wording of boxes on the return to deal with the impact of Brexit
Focusing on the second of the above changes, on-screen legends against boxes on the return now look like this:

As you can see, the legend against boxes 2, 8 and 9 have all changed.
Please note that this is only a change in the legend that shows against these boxes, and of course the legend you can see is not visible to HMRC. The underlying functionality of the software has not changed, so upgrades are not mandatory. As long as your system is configured to calculate values correctly for each box, older versions will continue file correctly despite the legend against boxes 2, 8 and 9 not being entirely up to date. However, the incorrect legend against these boxes could cause confusion and does not comply with the latest HMRC specification.
We recommend users of MTD for SunSystems arrange regular updates of their software to ensure compliance and to take advantage of other recent changes including the introduction of more stringent security and fraud prevention measures.
